Local Orange County, Ca. Building Could Offer Help to the Homeless.

The Santa Ana YMCA Historic Landmark (1920 era). It has been boarded up for decades in Santa Ana, Ca. Many ministries have been hoping the city of Santa Ana will come to the assistance of OC homelessness. One way to do this would be to create a joint effort to: Invest enough monies to gut out the insides of this building, rebuild/remodel and open its doors to help families who are homeless right here in our local county. This houses a small dance room, an historic basketball court with upstairs bleachers and a swimming pool. With multiple levels, many peple could be reached, fed, educated, and re-enter the local job force.
So, this building was purchased by the city of Santa Ana, CA. in 1992. At that time, the Los Angeles Times published an article(Summer,1992. See Homeless Link to Left of This Blog for More Information.)stating in 2 years the building would open to house homeless families. That was 20 years ago. This building is still boarded up with meetings for OC homeless held weekly in front of this location.
